alone in the dark
gazing out the window

the busiest day
sometimes I say “I’m really busy today”
so that I can go find a place to hide away
and then I’ll sit there for hours
watching people or reading
doing anything except keeping busy

waiting for the green light
lost in city life
colors illuminate the night
it’s hard to keep my sight
focused on the green light
drip
oh how lovely is the feeling
your voice brings in the morning
it gently reaches into my soul
and awakens me
oh how awful the day seems
until the moment you touch my lips
once again your breath revives
every ounce of my being
a cup of coffee in the morning
